Precision & consistency at the highest level

You can control the 64mm grinding discs with the stepless adjustment wheel, which is divided into 16 sections, smoothly and with the utmost perfection. The adjustment wheel is large enough to make even small changes precisely and repeatedly. The preparation is not limited to espresso, but the 064S also cuts a really excellent figure when it comes to filter coffee or pour over.

Prepared for all needs

With the 50 completely infinitely adjustable grinding settings, you can not only grind your espresso down to the last percent, but thanks to the incredible reproducibility you can also quickly grind a pour over in between. This is only possible with very few single-dosing grinders. Sophisticated features such as the knock-off ring and the great feel, which really permeates all components of the grinder, confirm the high-quality impression.

Detailed questions

What are the main differences between the Sculptor064S and the 078S?

The main difference, as the title of the mill suggests, is the size of the flat burrs installed in the mills. One is 64mm and the other is 78mm.
Both grinders are specialized in espresso preparation.
With a maximum output of 400 watts, the motor of the 078S is a lot more powerful than the 150 watt motor of the 064S.
In terms of speed flexibility, the 078S also offers a maximum of 200 revolutions more than the 064S at 1400 rpm.
In terms of workmanship, the two grinders are not that different, but the more compact dimensions and lighter weight of the 064S alone make it seem like the little sister next to the really high-quality 078S.

How fast does the mill grind?

The Timemore 064S can grind 18g of coffee beans to espresso fineness in just 10 seconds, although the grinding speed can be influenced by factors such as the grind level and the type of bean.

How big is the dead space of the mill?

To put it in the words of the coffee makers: 18in - 18out, 18in - 18out.
This is also the answer to the question about dead space: it is virtually zero during operation.
Basically, anything where individual coffee particles remain in the machine during the grinding process is referred to as dead space, such as in screw holes, between grinding discs, or in the channels that transport the beans from the hopper to the ground coffee container.
Initial measurements showed a dead space of 0.1gr.
Important: To measure the dead space, the Timemore Sculptor's knocking mechanism was always used, as intended. This removes any remaining ground coffee in the grinder's ejection slot.

How do I adjust the grinding level?

The large, unmissable adjustment wheel on the front of the mill offers 16 marked levels, each with a center mark. Basically, however, the adjustment wheel is completely infinitely adjustable, which means that the mill can be adjusted very precisely.
The setting options are versatile and the grinding results are perfectly consistent. The fine settings can be reproduced very well. You can also change the zero point of the mill further if, for example, the fine gradations are not enough. To do this, unscrew the front grinding disc and move the grinding disc suspensions anti-clockwise in the specified steps.

How do I clean the grinder?

Important: Please unplug the appliance before cleaning!
To clean the grinder, first remove the bean container. This is attached to the grinder with two small screws. Then you can carefully remove the last residue from the grinder with a brush or carefully vacuum it out with a vacuum cleaner. Then remove the grinder cover, i.e. the adjustment wheel and the metal disk behind it. Behind this are the attachments for the two grinding disks. Carefully remove these and clean them with a dry brush or the vacuum cleaner. Then put everything back together.
Another important note: Do not use water or other liquids to clean the grinder as this may cause damage.

How big is the mill?

The mill has the following dimensions:
- Height: 25.6cm
- Width: 10cm
- Depth: 26 cm (required space including Schuko plug)
- Weight: 3.8 kg (measured)

How much coffee can the grinder hold?

Since it is a single dosing grinder, the size of the bean container is kept quite small. Especially because the focus is on espresso. You can fit a maximum of 25g of beans in it and put the lid on. Grinding works best with quantities of up to 20g, which is easily enough for any espresso.

How loud is the mill?

The grinder has a brushless motor, which is quieter than conventional grinder motors. The noise level of the grinder also depends on the speed, the degree of grinding and the amount of coffee. The average noise level of the grinder at a speed of 1400 rpm is just over 70 dB.

How does the mill’s power supply work?

The mill has a power cable (Schuko plug) that must be connected to a power socket. The mill (or the motor) has a power consumption of 150 W and a voltage of 220-240 V. The plug is connected to the back of the mill.

What speed should be used?

The speed can be adjusted between 800 and 1200 revolutions per minute (RPM). We have found that the influence of RPM on the grinding result is barely noticeable or minimal. However, experimenting with the speeds is an interesting way to fine-tune even further. Our team prefers to use the grinder at 1200 RPM, which keeps the grinding to a minimum.
